Product Description

Astra Mini is a bare 3D module (no productive housing) released by Orbbec towards our customers who want to build their standalone product. Astra Mini is optimized for long-range use cases, which makes it great for interactive systems, entertainment, retail, and robotics.

Astra Mini now comes in a bundle with the powerful gestural Interaction SDK by Gestoos. Gestoos let’s you develop and enhance applications with gestural interaction in C++, Java and Processing.

Caution - Handle the Module with Care

You are aware of that Astra Mini is not a fully assembled 3D camera but only an unprotected 3D module that should be handled with care. Orbbec will not be responsible for damage caused by shipping, falling, false handling, insufficient power supply (5V) and other damage caused in your R&D progress.


The following activities are mostly like to damage the module:

Unexpected External Force - may deform the aluminum chassis thus set the calibration to invalid. Please try to use the positioning hole on the chassis.
Insufficient Power Supply - may burn the flash thus causing Firmware damage. Please make sure the power supply to the module is 5V.
Overheat - may cause permanent deformation on the lens thus set the calibration to invalid. Please make sure your setup provides enough cooling.
